Suppose you find that your partner has changed a lot after marriage, where they seem to be a different person before but have become an entirely different person afterward – to the point they act possessively. In that case, you are in an abusive relationship.

You might want to get in touch with a lawyer and opt for divorce and legal separation instead of allowing things to take a bad turn. Also, if you find your partner demanding your attention all the time, going through your phone, reading your emails/ texts, and monitoring your every move – it is a sign of emotional abuse.

Gaslighting

Do you find yourself in a situation where you are blamed for things that never happened? You might be accused of cheating – whereas it wasn’t you who cheated – but your partner. Also, you have an abusive partner if they constantly blame you for everything that is going wrong in their life.

Humiliation

Another tell-tale sign that you are in an abusive relationship is when you are constantly humiliated and openly criticized by your partner. Humiliation includes name-calling, embarrassing in public and in private, and belittling your accomplishments.

Your partner might even go to the extent of posting unflattering moments of you and showing them to the world. If you face any of these types of humiliation, you will want to call it quits on the relationship and never look back.

Isolation
